Chubb Elite Plus high-limit health insurance for people who want million-baht limits and maternity cover, up to THB 80 million per year

Underwritten by Chubb Samaggi Insurance Public Company Limited
Inpatient plan premiums start at THB 24,600 per year and go up to hundreds of thousands of baht per year, depending on age and plan
Highlights: annual limits of THB 5 / 20 / 80 million, and childbirth cover from the Silver plan upwards

Your first health policy has a limit of only a few hundred thousand baht, so when you are admitted to hospital with a serious illness the bill goes over the limit within the first week. Or you are planning to have a baby and find that your existing policy pays nothing for childbirth.

If you want a single high-limit health policy that covers all of this, how much premium do you pay, and what conditions mean it won't pay?

Chubb Elite Plus high-limit health insurance: who is it for and how much does it cost?

In short: Chubb Elite Plus high-limit health insurance from Chubb Samaggi Insurance suits people who want private hospital treatment with limits in the millions of baht, and couples planning to have children. Most inpatient costs are paid at actual cost, with limits of THB 1–20 million per hospital stay and THB 5–80 million per year. The Silver and Gold plans cover childbirth. Inpatient plan premiums start at THB 24,600 per year (information as at 29 October 2026). The actual premium depends on age, plan, deductible and the additional cover you choose.

Optional discounts

  • Choose a deductible of THB 50,000 per person per year for a 20% discount, or THB 100,000 per person per year for a 30% discount. This is available only with the inpatient-only plans.
  • 5% discount when 3 or more people apply together
  • In a year with no claims, you get a 5% discount at renewal

The actual premium depends on age, plan, deductible, additional cover and the insurer's underwriting decision. The amount you pay is the one shown on the premium quote.

A worked example to illustrate

Aged 35, with group insurance through work: Silver inpatient plan, THB 41,700 per year

  • With a THB 50,000 deductible: 41,700 × 80% = THB 33,360 per year
  • With a THB 100,000 deductible: 41,700 × 70% = THB 29,190 per year

The deductible applies per person per year, not per stay. If your group insurance can pay about THB 100,000, choosing a THB 100,000 deductible saves you THB 12,510 per year in premium.

Family of 3, Silver inpatient plan: father aged 35 THB 41,700, mother aged 33 THB 40,400, child aged 5 THB 111,700, total THB 193,800. After the 5% family discount, that comes to THB 184,110 per year. If you wait until the child is 6, the child's premium falls to THB 47,000.

This is an example to illustrate. The amount actually paid depends on the insurer's assessment. A simple rule: choose your plan first by the room rate at the hospital you normally use, then consider whether you also want childbirth or OPD cover.

Who is Chubb Elite Plus for?

  • Working people who want high-limit health insurance with limits in the millions of baht per year, to deal with a serious illness that costs a lot to treat
  • Couples planning to have a child in the next 1–2 years who want childbirth and emergency caesarean cover in one policy (Silver plan and above)
  • People who travel abroad often, on trips of no more than 45 days, and want treatment cover together with emergency evacuation
  • People who already have group insurance and want to use a THB 50,000–100,000 deductible to cut the premium

Who should not buy this plan yet?

  • People with a pre-existing condition or an illness that is not yet cured. The policy does not cover conditions that existed before you took out cover, and the insurer does not accept some occupations.
  • People whose premium budget is below about THB 25,000 per year. The smallest plan starts at THB 24,600. If all you need is an inpatient limit of a few hundred thousand baht, a plan with a more compact structure may suit you better.
  • People who will give birth within 280 days of cover starting. Childbirth is not covered in this period, and the Bronze plan has no childbirth cover.
  • People who want both a deductible and OPD. The discount for choosing a deductible cannot be used when you add OPD, dental or vision cover.
  • People over 70, or parents who want to insure only one child. A child aged 15 days to 15 years must apply together with one adult aged 20–55 on the same plan.

What limitations should you check before deciding?

  1. 30-day waiting period: illness in the first 30 days is not covered.
  2. 120-day waiting period for tumours, cysts, cancers of any kind, haemorrhoids, hernias, pterygium or cataracts, removal of the tonsils or adenoids, stones, varicose veins and endometriosis.
  3. 12-month waiting period for health check-ups, vaccinations, psychiatric care and palliative care. Funeral expenses for death from illness have a 180-day waiting period.
  4. Many items must be paid for upfront before you claim: childbirth, alternative medicine, vaccinations, health check-ups, dental, vision, psychiatric care, and check-ups before or after a hospital stay. Documents must be submitted within 30 days.
  5. MRI, PET and CT scans must be reported to the insurer and approved in advance.
  6. Children under 6 have much higher premiums than other age bands. And at renewal for ages 0–15, if the claims ratio exceeds 400%, the insurer may require a 30% copayment.
  7. Treatment abroad always has to be paid for upfront. If you choose to be treated abroad yourself, you must get approval first, and the benefit is paid at Thai treatment rates, in baht.
  8. Renewal premiums can be adjusted according to age band and claims history. The policy can be renewed up to age 99, subject to the insurer's criteria.

General exclusions you should know about include cosmetic surgery, dental and vision treatment (outside the additional cover), conditions arising from alcohol or drugs, congenital abnormalities, and treatment by a doctor who is a family member. See the policy for the full list.

Tell us just 3 things

  1. Date of birth of everyone to be insured
  2. Pre-existing conditions or past treatment history
  3. Whether you already have group or other health insurance, and whether you plan to have children

Our team will send you premium quotes comparing 2–3 options (for example full Silver / Silver with a THB 100,000 deductible / Bronze with OPD added) within a business day. If a plan is good value, we will tell you straight. If the conditions differ, we will explain the differences before you pay.

Frequently asked questions

If I am already pregnant when I apply, can I claim for childbirth?

Scheduled childbirth costs and emergency caesarean costs require at least 280 days of continuous cover beforehand. For a miscarriage, at least 90 days of continuous cover is required. If you give birth before this period is complete, the claim will not meet the conditions.

If I fall ill on a trip abroad, can I claim?

Yes, if the trip is no more than 45 days and you are not in the United States. You must pay first and then submit the claim. If documents are not in Thai or English, they must be translated by a government agency or an accredited institution, and the insured pays for the translation. The insurer pays in baht at the Bank of Thailand exchange rate.

How do I get the 5% family discount?

At least 3 people must apply together, everyone must choose the same plan, there must be at least 1 parent, and the start date of cover must be the same day.

If I go to a network hospital, do I have to pay upfront?

Mostly not. But if the insurer needs to check whether the condition existed before you took out cover, you may have to pay first and claim afterwards.

If I also have group insurance, can I claim from both?

Yes. The insurer will return the original receipt together with confirmation of the amount already paid, so you can claim the remainder from your other policy.

If I add dental or vision cover, what documents do I need?

You need to attach a dental check-up report or an eye test report that is no more than 1 year old to the application form. This additional cover can be bought up to age 70, and renewal is not accepted from age 71 onwards.

Who approves underwriting and claims?

Underwriting and claim payments are decided by Chubb Samaggi Insurance. As your broker, Prakanthai.com helps coordinate and follows up on your case.
