Viriyah Class 1 First Loss insurance for cars aged 2–20 years, from THB 8,900

Older cars often struggle to get Class 1 cover, or the premium is out of proportion to the car's value. Class 1 First Loss insurance from Viriyah Insurance solves this by letting you choose your own “own-car repair limit” at one of 3 levels: THB 50,000 / 100,000 / 200,000. Your car is still covered in every case, as with Class 1: collisions with or without another party, theft, fire and flood, but the payout is capped at the limit you choose. That is why the premium starts at just THB 8,900. It accepts saloons and 4-door pickups in groups 3–5 aged 2–20 years. It suits people who want Class 1 peace of mind at a price close to Class 2+.

Strengths

  • Choose from 3 own-car repair limits and pay a premium that matches the risk you can accept
  • You can claim even for a collision with no other party, unlike Class 2+/3+
  • Covers flood, theft and fire up to the limit you choose
  • No excess (deductible) for car-to-car collisions (subject to policy conditions)
  • Third-party liability the same as standard Class 1: bodily injury or death 20 million per accident, property 2.5 million per accident
  • PA + medical expenses THB 100,000 per person, driver + 6 passengers, and bail bond THB 2.5 million

Suits / doesn't suit

  • Suits: cars aged 8–20 years that are not worth much, people who have bought Class 2+/3+ but worry about a collision with no other party, and people who live in flood-risk areas
  • Doesn't suit: new, high-value cars (heavy damage may exceed the limit), EVs, cars for hire or rental. Viriyah Class 1 First Loss premium table.

FAQ

  1. What is First Loss? It is insurance in which the insurer pays for the first part of the loss up to the limit you choose, rather than covering the car's full value, which is why the premium is lower than standard Class 1.
  2. How is First Loss different from Class 2+? First Loss covers you even in a collision with no other party, such as hitting a post or running off the road, whereas Class 2+ only covers collisions with a land vehicle where the other party is identified.
  3. Should I choose a limit of 50,000, 100,000 or 200,000? Look at the repair bills you've had before and the car's value. If you live in a flood-risk area, park outside or your car is still worth a lot, the THB 200,000 limit is better value. If you drive little and the car is old, a lower limit saves on premium.
  4. Can a 20-year-old car still get Class 1? This plan accepts cars aged 2–20 years, for models set by the insurer only. Check your model on LINE @prakanthai.
  5. Can I claim for flood? Yes, up to the limit you choose → Flood-damaged car: can you claim on your insurance?
