If your car has been flooded, your home is damaged, or you need to move your car out of an at-risk area, contact your insurer directly to report it, check your entitlements and arrange help. Have your registration number or policy number, your location and a callback number ready.

Prakanthai.com has gathered the contact numbers of the 20 insurers listed in our service centre, with separate information on flood car-lifting services and breakdown assistance by entitlement, so you can find and contact them easily in an emergency.

Which insurers can you contact for a car-lifting service to move your car away from a flood?

The announcement images we received include information on help with moving cars during the floods from AXA, Chubb and Thanachart, subject to an entitlement check before you use the service.

InsurerAssistance numberKey conditions in the announcement
AXA02-118-8111During 25–27 September 2026, for cars not yet flooded but at risk and unable to be driven out; for Class 1 customers or those who bought flood cover; once per event
Chubb+66 2 640 4500, press 1Free car-lifting away from floods announced for Class 1 car insurance customers or those with flood cover, under the insurer's conditions
Thanachart1519Free tow trucks announced for voluntary car insurance customers in flooded areas of Bangkok and Chonburi

Before calling a tow truck yourself, ask the insurer about approval, the service area, distance, destination and any extra charges, to avoid misunderstandings about reimbursement.

AXA: moving cars to a safe area

The announcement says AXA will pay the actual towing cost to move cars to a safe area, for cars that are not yet flooded but are at risk and cannot be driven out.

You must be a Class 1 car insurance customer or have bought flood cover. The service can be used once per event, from 25 to 27 September 2026. Call +66 2 118 8111.

If your car is already flooded, describe its condition accurately so staff can decide on the right help. If you are reading this after 27 September 2026, ask whether the period has been extended or a new announcement issued.

Chubb: car-lifting away from floods, according to the insurer's entitlements

Class 1 car insurance customers, or those with flood cover, can contact +66 2 640 4500, press 1 or LINE @ChubbThailand to check their entitlement to the car-lifting service in the announcement.

The image we received does not state an end date or a distance, so ask staff to confirm the conditions and availability before using the service.

For home insurance customers affected by the floods, the announcement gives 1758 or +66 2 611 4499, 24 hours a day, which is separate from the car-lifting number above.

Thanachart: tow trucks and temporary parking in Bangkok and Chonburi

The announcement offers a free tow-truck service for voluntary car insurance customers, along with temporary parking areas in Bangkok and Chonburi. Contact 1519 or LINE @thanachartinsurance, 24 hours a day.

The parking areas in the announcement image are:

  • Bangkok: Bang Khen, Min Buri, Suan Luang, Khlong Sam Wa, Lat Krabang, Khan Na Yao, Lat Phrao, Bangkok Yai and Bang Kho Laem
  • Chonburi: Mueang Chonburi, Si Racha, Sattahip and Bang Lamung districts

Always call to confirm the location, available spaces and access route before you set off. The capacity in the announcement is not real-time availability.

Further update: emergency tow-truck services from ERGO and MSIG

We found further roadside assistance information on the insurers' websites. Note that these are services under your policy entitlements, not confirmation of a free flood car-lifting campaign for every customer.

ERGO Assistance — ERGO Insurance (Thailand)

ERGO's website lists an emergency lifting and towing service of up to 25 km per call-out, usable once a year, with extra distance charged at THB 25 per km, for those entitled under the service conditions.

Entitlement depends on the policy, vehicle type, use and age of the vehicle. The website states that the car must be no more than 20 years old, among the insurer's other requirements.

Contact 1219 or +66 2 820 7000 to check your entitlement and arrange a service unit, stating clearly whether the car has broken down, has been flooded, or needs moving out of an at-risk area.

Read the details at ERGO Assistance

MSIG Roadside Assistance — MSIG

MSIG's website lists a 24-hour emergency roadside assistance service and a document detailing Roadside Assistance entitlements. The insured should ask the insurer to check their plan and conditions before using the service.

Contact 1259 to ask about tow-truck entitlement, limits or distance, extra charges, and whether the service can be used for flooding or for moving a car as a precaution.

Read the details at Motor claims services and MSIG Roadside Assistance

If an insurer's flood car-lifting service isn't listed in this article, that doesn't mean no help is available; we just don't yet have enough verifiable information to confirm special entitlements for this event. Contact the insurer in the table to ask about your case.

Other emergency breakdown services you can check your entitlement to

Insurer / serviceContactDetails from the information received
Muang Thai Insurance — Roadside Service1484The image states lifting/towing once a year, up to THB 1,500 per call-out; the insured pays anything above that. Your entitlement and the reason for the call-out must be verifiable.
AIG — Roadside Assistance02-021-1699Roadside assistance under your plan, separate from the service centre number +66 2 649 1999
Thaivivat — TVI COOL1231 to ask how to use your entitlementThe TVI COOL image lists tow-truck and breakdown assistance, but you need to check what your policy entitles you to and whether it applies to flooding.

A tow-truck service and flood cover are two separate things. Having a tow truck available doesn't mean the insurer will pay for repairs or damage in every case, so check your policy details too.

Filing a flood claim for your home and property: which channel should you use?

If your home, shop or business premises have been damaged, notify the insurer of that property, stating the type of policy and where it happened.

The announcements that clearly separate the reporting options are:

  • Bangkok Insurance: call 1620, press 2 for homes and business premises; for cars, press 1
  • Allianz Ayudhya General Insurance: call 1292, press 3 for property; for cars, press 2
  • Chubb — home insurance: call 1758 or +66 2 611 4499
  • Dhipaya Insurance: call 1736 or report via LINE @dhipayainsurance
  • Indara Insurance: call +66 2 636 5656, press 1

For other insurers, call the number in the table of 20 insurers and ask to be put through to the home or property claims team, and have the insurer check the policy's flood cover first.

LINE and app channels for reporting or follow-up

If the phone lines are busy, you can use the additional channels the insurers list in their announcements.

InsurerAdditional channels
Bangkok InsuranceLINE @bangkokinsurance and the Bangkok Insurance app
ChubbLINE @ChubbThailand
Thanachart InsuranceLINE @thanachartinsurance
Dhipaya InsuranceLINE @dhipayainsurance, choose the “File a claim” menu
Viriyah InsuranceViriyah Insurance LINE OA, via the insurer's official channels

Check that the account is official before sending personal information, and keep the reference number or confirmation message. If you report through several channels, say that it is the same incident.

What should you prepare before filing a flood claim?

  1. Name and callback number of the insured or the contact person
  2. Registration number or policy number, if you can find it
  3. Location and landmarks, with details of the access routes in and out
  4. The current situation, such as the water level, whether the car has stalled, and whether it can still be moved
  5. Vehicle type: petrol, hybrid or electric, so the right recovery method can be arranged
  6. Photos of the damage, as far as you can take them safely
  7. For a home or business premises, prepare the address and an initial list of damaged property.

After reporting, ask for a reference number, a follow-up channel and guidance on costs. If you have to pay upfront, ask about approval and the documents required, and keep your receipts.

Sample message for reporting a flooded car

“I'd like to report a car affected by flooding. Registration … Insurer … Located at … Coordinates … The car is currently … Water level about … Please check my entitlement and arrange help. Callback name … Tel. …”

If the car isn't flooded yet but you want to move it away from the water, say “The car is not yet flooded, but it is at risk and cannot be driven out”, and explain the reason truthfully.

What should you do if your car stalls in floodwater?

Don't restart the car, and don't risk going back for it or taking photos in a dangerous area.

  • Look after your passengers and get to a safe place when you can.
  • Notify the insurer, giving your location and the car's condition accurately.
  • Take photos only when it is safe; don't go into moving water to gather evidence.
  • Let the insurer advise on moving the car and where to take it for inspection.
  • Tell the service provider if the car is electric or hybrid, so the right recovery method can be prepared.

Frequently asked questions about flood claims and tow trucks

If my car isn't flooded yet, can I get a tow truck to move it to a safe area?

Some insurers offer help before any damage occurs, such as AXA's announcement for 25–27 September 2026 covering cars not yet flooded but at risk and unable to be driven out. You need to check your entitlement and have the insurer arrange it before using the service.

Does every insurer offer free car-lifting away from floods?

Not every insurer or every policy. Services may be limited by area, time period, amount, distance or number of uses. Ask about the conditions and any extra charges first.

If I have Roadside Assistance, can I use it for flooding straight away?

Not necessarily. You need to explain the cause and have the insurer check your entitlement first, because roadside breakdown help, moving a car before a flood and moving a car that is already damaged may have different conditions.

Can I call a tow truck myself and then claim the cost back with the receipt?

Don't assume you can claim it back automatically. Ask about approval, the service provider, the limit and the documents first. If you have to act urgently for safety, keep evidence and notify the insurer as soon as possible.

If my car is submerged, will I get the full sum insured straight away?

That can't be decided from the water level or photos alone. The insurer must check the cover and assess the damage before deciding on the claim payment under the policy conditions.

Once I've reported it on LINE, does that mean my claim is approved?

The confirmation message is proof that the insurer has received your information; it is not approval of the claim payment. Keep the reference number and follow up as the insurer advises.

Does Prakanthai.com provide the tow trucks itself?

Prakanthai.com gathers information and helps customers follow up with insurers. Tow trucks are arranged, and entitlements approved, by the insurer or a service provider the insurer appoints.

Information checked on 26 September 2026: the list and contact numbers are based on Prakanthai's service centre page, with any differences updated to match the insurers' websites and the announcements received. This is not a test call or real-time confirmation of tow-truck availability.

Please confirm your entitlement, the service area, timing and costs with the insurer before using a service, especially the AXA announcement, which is limited to 25–27 September 2026. Assistance depends on local conditions, safety and the number of people requesting help.
