Your two-year-old car's new-car (red plate) insurance has just run out, and the renewal quote from the dealer is more than you expected. You want Class 1 with full cover but are happy to use a garage to bring the premium down. What should you look at?
Aioi Bangkok's Class 1 Single Rate insurance for group 3 cars with garage repair uses premiums from a table, split between Bangkok and other provinces. It accepts passenger cars up to 15 years old, and there is a list of cars it does not accept that you should check first.

In short: Aioi Bangkok's Class 1 Single Rate insurance for group 3 cars suits owners of privately used passenger cars with up to 7 seats (code 110) that the insurer places in group 3, up to 15 years old, who want Class 1 with garage repair at a premium known in advance. Every figure is a starting premium. The insurer decides the vehicle group. The actual premium depends on car age, sum insured, area and the insurer's underwriting decision. The amount you actually pay is the one on your quote.
CMI bought separately: saloon THB 645.21
A worked example to illustrate
A 2-year-old car with a THB 900,000 sum insured, used in Bangkok, bought together with CMI
That falls in the THB 810,000–1,200,000 band, with a premium of THB 19,500
19,500 + 645.21 = THB 20,145.21 per year
How much lower is the premium next year?
Once the car reaches 3–5 years old, with a sum insured of THB 660,000–950,000, the Bangkok premium is THB 16,700
19,500 − 16,700 = THB 2,800 less per year (assuming, for this example, that the car stays in that sum insured band and the insurer keeps using the same table)
As a rule of thumb, within the same sum insured band the premium is the same, so set the sum insured close to the car's value to get the fullest theft and fire cover
