Personal accident insurance for seniors, apply up to age 80, from THB 1,200

Premium data from the insurer's product document as at 26 October 2026 · compiled by Prakanthai.com

Underwritten by Dhipaya Insurance Public Company Limited
From THB 1,200 to 6,000 a year, depending on the plan
Highlight: accepts applicants aged 55–80 and renews up to age 99

You want accident insurance for a parent in their seventies, but plan after plan gives the same answer: "over the age limit". Most personal accident plans accept new applicants only up to 60–70, and some senior plans up to 75.

Yet at this age, a slip in the bathroom, a broken bone, or a fall from a motorbike on the way to the market can take a long time to recover from, and the costs follow.

Dhipaya's TIP PA Senior accepts applicants up to age 80, higher than any other accident plan Prakanthai currently sells, and renews up to age 99.

Personal accident insurance for seniors up to 80: who is it for, and how much?

Short answer: Dhipaya's TIP PA Senior suits healthy people aged 55–80, or children who want to insure parents who are too old for ordinary accident plans. It pays THB 100,000–1,000,000 for accidental death or disability, including riding or riding pillion on a motorbike, and THB 10,000–50,000 per accident for medical costs. It renews up to age 99. From THB 1,200 a year (as at 26 October 2026); the actual premium depends on the plan you choose.

How much is personal accident insurance for seniors?

Premiums start from THB 1,200 a year (Plan 1) up to THB 6,000 a year (Plan 4), including stamp duty, as at 26 October 2026. The actual premium depends on the plan and the insurer's assessment. At renewal, the insurer may adjust the premium by age band and actual claims. The amount you pay is the one in your quote.

Worked examples, for illustration

What does Plan 1 cost per month?
1,200 ÷ 12 = THB 100 a month

How much does the family receive after an accidental death? (Plan 1)
Death benefit THB 100,000 + annual payment 10,000 × 5 years = THB 150,000
THB 100,000 comes as a lump sum; the other THB 50,000 is paid at THB 10,000 a year for 5 years

Is Plan 4 worth it over Plan 3?
6,000 − 4,200 = THB 1,800 more a year raises the death and disability sum from 500,000 to 1,000,000, but medical cover stays at THB 50,000 per accident. If medical costs are your main concern, Plan 3 gives the same medical limit (for illustration)

Who is this plan for?

  • Healthy people aged 71–80 who can't get other accident plans because of their age
  • Children who want accident cover for their parents from about THB 100 a month
  • Older people who still ride or ride pillion on a motorbike every day, since it's covered up to the full sum insured
  • People aged 55 and over who want a policy that renews up to age 99
  • Retired foreigners living in Thailand with a passport and a work permit or visa

Who shouldn't buy this plan?

People who have or have been treated for the listed conditions
The plan doesn't accept anyone who has, has had, has symptoms of, or has been treated or advised by a doctor for epilepsy, heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, bone or muscle disease, cancer, AIDS or HIV, stroke, or chronic alcoholism. Many older people have high blood pressure or diabetes, so check this first

People under 55
You can't apply for this plan yet. See Happy PA or BKI PA for All

People who want cover for illness
Accident insurance pays only for injuries from accidents, not for treating illness. For that, look at health insurance

People who want more than THB 50,000 of medical cover per accident
Plans 3 and 4 both pay up to THB 50,000 per accident

People with any disability
The acceptance conditions require the applicant to be in good health with no disability

What limits should you check before deciding?

1) Answer every health question truthfully
The application asks about medical conditions, motorbike use, drinking, and accidents that needed a hospital stay in the past 2 years. If information is concealed or false, the contract is voidable, and the insurer may rescind it under Section 865 of the Civil and Commercial Code

2) One policy per person
If you buy more, the insurer may cancel the extra policies, refund the premium in full without interest, and pay no claims under them

3) Renewal premiums can change
The insurer may adjust the premium by age band, the policy's actual claims, and any information that raises the risk. THB 1,200 isn't locked in until age 99

4) The annual payment isn't a lump sum
It's paid once a year for 5 years

5) Ambulance cover is limited to 3 times a year
and the wheelchair limit is per year

Want to know if your parent qualifies? What do you need to send?

Just 3 things

  1. Date of birth of the person to be insured
  2. The plan you're interested in, or a rough yearly budget
  3. Any medical conditions or treatment history (if any)

We check age and health against the insurer's criteria and reply within one working day with whether they qualify and a written quote, in English or Thai. If this plan won't accept them, we say so and help find one that will.

Frequently asked questions

My father was born in 1947. Can he apply?

The insurer counts age as the current Thai year minus the Thai year of birth. 1947 is B.E. 2490, so in 2026 (B.E. 2569) he counts as 2569 − 2490 = 79, within the 55–80 range. If his health meets the criteria, he can apply and renew up to 99.

My mother has high blood pressure but it's well controlled. Can she apply?

This plan doesn't accept anyone who has, or has been treated for, high blood pressure, even if it's under control. Send us her health history and we'll look for another plan an insurer will consider.

Is a slip in the bathroom covered?

The plan covers injuries caused by external factors in an accident, 24 hours a day. Whether a fall counts as an accident depends on the definitions and exclusions in the policy. Keep the medical certificate and receipts every time.

How is it different from the senior accident plan for ages up to 75?

That plan accepts ages 45–75 from THB 4,400 a year. TIP PA Senior accepts ages 55–80 from THB 1,200 a year. The cover differs, so compare the items in your quotes.

Can foreigners apply?

Yes, if age and health meet the criteria. You need a passport and a work permit or visa approved by the Thai authorities.
