Viriyah Motorcycle Plus insurance: who is it for, and how much is the premium?
In short: Viriyah Insurance's Motorcycle Plus insurance is financial loss insurance for people buying a motorcycle on hire-purchase, and it suits people who are still paying off the bike. Premiums start at THB 280 per year (as at 15 October 2026). Acceptance depends on the vehicle and the insurer's assessment.

| 31–60 days | 3 instalments |
How much does Motorcycle Plus insurance cost?
Premiums from THB 280 per year, including tax and stamp duty, as at 15 October 2026, for 1 year of cover. The actual premium is as stated in the quote and subject to the insurer's underwriting decision.
Worked example: a THB 2,500 instalment and 20 days of treatment
- 20 days of treatment falls in the 6–30 day band, so 2 instalments are paid
- An instalment of THB 2,500 is within the THB 3,000 cap: 2,500 × 2 = THB 5,000
- If the monthly instalment is THB 3,800, the plan pays up to THB 3,000 per instalment: 3,000 × 2 = THB 6,000, and the difference of 800 × 2 = THB 1,600 is paid by you
This example is for illustration only. The amount actually paid depends on the outstanding debt and the insurer's claim assessment. The rule of thumb: if your instalment is no more than THB 3,000, this plan can pay the full instalment.
Who is Motorcycle Plus insurance for?
- People who are still paying off a motorcycle and whose income stops straight away if they are injured, such as food delivery riders and daily-paid workers
- People whose instalments are no more than THB 3,000 a month
- Owners of any make and model of properly registered motorcycle aged no more than 15 years
- People who also want theft cover for the motorcycle, for a premium of a few hundred baht
Who should not buy this plan yet?
- People who have finished paying off their motorcycle: the main cover pays instalments under the hire-purchase contract. See motorcycle theft insurance, which pays cash compensation for lost income instead.
- People whose instalments are much higher than THB 3,000: you pay the excess yourself
- People who want a high limit for theft: this plan pays THB 10,000, lower than the theft plan, which pays THB 15,000
- Motorcycles over 15 years old are not accepted by this plan
Limits to check before you decide
- Once you claim under any one cover, the policy ends automatically, unless the damage arises continuously from the same event or a special agreement states otherwise
- Instalments are paid according to the outstanding debt, up to THB 3,000 per instalment and no more than 3 instalments a year
- Embezzlement and illegally pawning the vehicle are not covered, nor is illegal use of the vehicle or speed racing
- A total loss must exceed 80% of the motorcycle's value on the date of the incident
- The insurer reserves the right to decline surrender or cancellation of the policy, as this is a special premium offer
