Highlights: Class 3 with no vehicle inspection, accepting both private and commercial-use vehicles
Your shop's pickup makes deliveries every day and its insurance is about to run out. You don't want to waste time taking it for an inspection, and many plans only accept private-use vehicles.
Class 3 insurance you can apply for without an inspection that accepts vehicles used in a business: what does it cover, and how much is the premium?
Viriyah Class 3 insurance: who is it for, and how much is the premium?
In short: Viriyah's Class 3 insurance suits owners of saloons or pickups who want cover for damage to the other party: third-party bodily injury and death, and third-party property up to THB 1,000,000. No vehicle inspection is needed, and both private and commercial-use vehicles are accepted. It does not cover your own car. Premiums start at THB 2,500 per year for a saloon (code 110) and THB 3,500 per year for a pickup (code 320) (as of 14 October 2026). The actual premium depends on the vehicle type and the insurer's assessment.
What does Viriyah Class 3 insurance cover?

| Your own car / theft / fire | Not covered | – |
| Third-party bodily injury or death | THB 500,000 per person Up to THB 20,000,000 per accident in total | – |
| Third-party property | THB 1,000,000 | e.g. the other party's car, a house, a fence |
| Personal accident | THB 50,000 | – |
| Medical expenses | THB 50,000 | – |
| Driver bail bond (criminal cases) | THB 200,000 | – |
Roughly how much is Viriyah Class 3 insurance?
Annual premiums. Data as at 14 October 2026
| Vehicle type | Vehicle code | Starting premium (THB per year) |
|---|---|---|
| Saloon | 110 | 2,500 |
| Pickup | 320 | 3,500 |
Every figure is a starting premium. The actual premium depends on the vehicle type, how it is used and the insurer's underwriting decision. The quote is what counts.
Worked example: how much does Class 3 help if you are at fault?
Suppose the shop's pickup (premium THB 3,500) reverses into another, parked car. The repairs to the other car cost THB 60,000, and the repairs to your own vehicle THB 15,000
- The THB 60,000 repair to the other party's car is within the THB 1,000,000 third-party property limit
- Repairs to your own vehicle, THB 15,000: you pay yourself, because Class 3 does not cover your own car
- Average premium per month: 3,500 ÷ 12 = about THB 292
This example is for illustration only. The amount actually paid depends on the insurer's claim assessment. A simple rule: Class 3 protects your money from damage you cause to others; it doesn't repair your own car.
Who is Viriyah Class 3 insurance for?
- Owners of older cars who don't want to pay a premium for cover on the car itself
- Shops or businesses that use a saloon or pickup for commercial purposes
- People who want to renew quickly and can't easily take the car for an inspection
- People who want cover for damage to the other party beyond what compulsory motor insurance (CMI) pays
Who should not buy this plan yet?
- People who want their own repair costs covered. This plan does not cover the car itself; consider Class 3+ or 2+ insurance instead
- People who regularly carry passengers and want high personal accident cover. This plan gives THB 50,000; see Class 3 Chubb Gold, which gives THB 200,000
- People who want the cheapest Class 3 for a private-use saloon. Compare Class 3 Chubb Eco at THB 1,800 first
- Vehicle types other than codes 110 and 320. The premium table covers only these two codes
Limits to check before you decide
- Your own car is not covered in any case: not for collision, theft or fire.
- Personal accident and medical expenses of THB 50,000, lower than Class 3 Chubb Eco (THB 100,000) and Chubb Gold (THB 200,000), which we also offer
- Driver bail bond of THB 200,000
- Third-party property up to THB 1,000,000. If you hit an expensive car or damage several items of property, you are responsible for the amount above the limit

Frequently asked questions
Do I have to take the car for an inspection?
No. This plan needs no vehicle inspection before cover is accepted.
Can a vehicle used for business deliveries be insured?
Yes. This plan states that it accepts passenger cars for private or commercial use. Tell us how the vehicle is actually used when you ask for a quote.
If you already have compulsory motor insurance (CMI), do you still need Class 3?
CMI does not pay for repairs to the other party's car or property. Class 3 adds third-party property cover of THB 1,000,000. Read more in After an accident, how do you claim on CMI?
If you are not at fault, do you need to use this insurance?
If you are not at fault, you claim the repairs to your own car from the other party or their insurer. Our team can help coordinate the claim.
How does Viriyah Class 3 differ from Chubb Class 3?
Viriyah Class 3 needs no inspection and accepts commercial-use vehicles. Class 3 Chubb Eco has a lower premium but only accepts vehicles not used for hire or rental, and includes personal accident cover of THB 100,000.
