Premium data as of 14 October 2026 · compiled by Prakanthai.com
Underwritten by Viriyah Insurance Public Company Limited
Total premiums from THB 16,900–38,000 per year, depending on the vehicle code, weight, sum insured and special extra equipment. These rates apply until 31 Dec 2026
Key feature: Class 3+ insurance for trucks and tractor units used in your own business, with premiums THB 1,000–1,400 lower than Viriyah's 2+ plan
A business has two six-wheel trucks that deliver its own goods. They are parked every night in a warehouse with a security guard, so theft is not much of a worry, but on the road there is a risk every day of being hit by another vehicle.
How much does the Class 3+ truck insurance premium differ from 2+, and which vehicles qualify?
Viriyah Class 3+ truck insurance: who is it for and how much is the premium?
In short: Viriyah Truck Super Save Class 3+ truck insurance suits business owners who use a truck (code 320) or a tractor unit (code 420) to carry their own goods, not for hire or rental. It covers damage to the vehicle in a collision with a land vehicle, with a sum insured of THB 100,000–300,000, plus third-party liability. It does not cover theft or fire. Total premiums start from THB 16,900 per year for a 4–12-tonne truck with a sum insured of THB 100,000 and no special extra equipment (data as at 14 Oct 2026). The actual premium depends on the vehicle code, weight, sum insured and the equipment fitted.

Total annual premiums, after the plan's discounts. These rates apply until 31 December 2026 or until the insurer changes them
| Vehicle code / weight | Sum insured 100,000 / 200,000 / 300,000 (no special extra equipment) | With special extra equipment |
|---|---|---|
| 320 · over 4 and up to 12 tonnes | 16,900 / 17,900 / 18,900 | 18,600 / 19,700.01 / 20,800 |

Worked example: how much cheaper is 3+ than 2+?
Compared with Viriyah Class 2+ truck insurance, without special extra equipment
- 4–12-tonne truck, sum insured 200,000: 3+ premium THB 17,900 · 2+ premium THB 18,900, a difference of THB 1,000 per year
- Tractor unit over 8 tonnes, sum insured 300,000: 3+ premium THB 34,500 · 2+ premium THB 35,900, a difference of THB 1,400 per year
- This difference is the price of theft and fire cover. If the vehicle is stolen or completely destroyed by fire, 3+ pays nothing, while 2+ pays up to the sum insured.
This example is for illustration only. A simple rule: if the vehicle is parked somewhere safe and rarely runs at night outside its usual area, 3+ saves money. If the vehicle is worth a lot or is often parked away from base, the extra THB 1,000 or so for 2+ may be worth it.
Who is Viriyah Class 3+ truck insurance for?
- Business owners with trucks or tractor units that carry their own goods
- People who want repairs paid for when another vehicle hits them, for less than 2+ costs
- Vehicles parked in secure areas, where the risk of theft is low
- Vehicles fitted with special extra equipment that need a rate matching what is actually fitted
Who should not buy this plan yet?
- Vehicles that haul for hire or are rented out. This plan only accepts vehicles used in your own business
- Vehicles carrying fuel, acids or gas. The insurer reserves the right to decline them
- People worried about theft, fire or flood. This plan does not cover them
- People who want repairs when they hit a post or wall or overturn on their own. This plan covers the vehicle only in collisions with a land vehicle
Limits to check before you decide
- The vehicle is covered only in collisions with a land vehicle. Accidents with no other party involved are not covered under this part
- Theft, fire and flood are not covered unless added in the policy or an endorsement
- Vehicles with special extra equipment are on a higher rate. You need to send photos of the vehicle and details of the equipment for checking
- These rates apply until 31 December 2026 or until the insurer changes them
- Any excess (deductible) is as set out in the policy and its endorsements; check it on your quote

Frequently asked questions
Can every six-wheel or ten-wheel truck be insured?
Don't go by the number of wheels alone. The vehicle code, gross weight, use, goods carried and equipment fitted all count. Send us the registration book and photos of the vehicle for our team to check.
What is the difference between code 320 and code 420?
In this plan, code 320 is for trucks by weight band, and code 420 is for tractor units over 8 tonnes. You can find the actual code in the registration book.
I sometimes haul goods for customers for a fee. Can I still get this plan?
This plan does not accept vehicles used for hire or rental. Tell our team how the vehicle is actually used so we can find a plan of the right type. Giving inaccurate information could affect how a claim is assessed.
Are you covered as soon as you send your details?
Not yet. The insurer must first accept the application and confirm the start date of cover.
Where do I report an accident to Viriyah?
Call the Viriyah Insurance customer relations centre on 1557 as soon as it happens, and let the Prakanthai.com team know so we can help follow up.
Who approves claims: Prakanthai.com or Viriyah Insurance?
Underwriting and claim payments are decided by Viriyah Insurance. Prakanthai.com, as the broker, helps coordinate and follow up for you.
