Premium data as of 15 October 2026 · compiled by Prakanthai.com

Underwritten by ERGO Insurance (Thailand) Public Company Limited
Premiums from THB 2,300–2,700 per year, depending on engine size (cc)
Highlights: Class 3+ motorcycle insurance that pays for repairs to your own bike in a collision with another party, with no excess and a relaxed inspection requirement

You ride your motorcycle to work every day. Every time you clip a car, only CMI helps with the people, while the repair bill for the other car and for your own bike comes out of your own pocket.

ERGO's Class 3+ motorcycle insurance starts at THB 2,300. What does it cover, and which bike conditions should you know before buying?

ERGO Class 3+ motorcycle insurance: who is it for and how much does it cost?

In short: ERGO Insurance's Class 3+ motorcycle insurance suits people who ride a privately used motorcycle up to 5 years old and want THB 10,000 for repairs to their own bike in a collision with a land vehicle where the other party can be identified. It covers the other party's property up to THB 600,000, with no excess. It does not cover theft. Premiums start from THB 2,300 per year for bikes up to 250 cc (as of 15 October 2026). The actual premium depends on engine size and the insurer's assessment.

How much does ERGO Class 3+ motorcycle insurance cost?

Up to 250 cc2,30010,000
Over 250 cc2,70010,000

Information as of 15 October 2026. The actual premium depends on engine size, the model and the insurer's underwriting decision. The insurer reserves the right to change premiums without prior notice. The total including tax, stamp duty and CMI is as stated on the quote.

Worked example: a 125 cc bike rear-ends a saloon stopped at a red light

  • For a bike up to 250 cc, the premium is THB 2,300 per year, about THB 192 a month on average (2,300 ÷ 12)
  • The THB 25,000 repair to the other party's saloon is within the THB 600,000 third-party property limit
  • Repairs to your own motorcycle cost THB 14,000 and the limit for the bike is THB 10,000, so you pay the amount above it: 14,000 − 10,000 = THB 4,000
  • There is no excess (deductible), so there is nothing extra to pay on that account

This example is for illustration only. The amount actually paid depends on the damage assessment and the policy conditions.

Why get more than CMI?

CMI helps with medical expenses and bodily injury as required by law, but it doesn't pay for repairs to vehicles or the other party's property. When a motorcycle hits a car, the car's repair bill is often several times the motorcycle's. The third-party property limit is therefore the most helpful part of this plan.

Who is ERGO Class 3+ motorcycle insurance for?

  • People who ride a privately used motorcycle to work or school every day
  • Owners of bikes up to 5 years old who want their own bike's repairs paid after a collision with another party
  • People who don't want an excess when they claim
  • People who can't easily take the bike for an inspection, because this plan relaxes the inspection requirement

Who should not buy this plan yet?

  • Food-delivery riders, couriers, or anyone using the bike commercially. This plan accepts private use only
  • People who worry about theft. This plan doesn't cover theft. Compare Class 2+ motorcycle insurance
  • Bikes over 5 years old
  • Bikes registered as assembled from parts, or models with no dealer in Thailand
  • Bikes registered to a juristic person, or modified bikes where you want the accessories covered

Limits to check before you decide

  1. The THB 10,000 limit for the bike applies only in a collision with a land vehicle where the other party is identified. Falling over on your own or the other party driving off doesn't meet this condition.
  2. There is no medical expenses cover for the rider. There is only personal accident cover of THB 50,000 for 1 seat
  3. Theft is not covered
  4. Third-party property cover of THB 600,000. If you hit an expensive vehicle, you are responsible for any damage above the limit
  5. Private use only, and accessories are not covered
