Premium data as of 15 October 2026 · compiled by Prakanthai.com
Underwritten by Bangkok Insurance Public Company Limited

Highlights: Class 3 insurance that accepts cars up to 30 years old, with no vehicle inspection
An old car, twenty-odd years old, still does the market run and the school run every day. You can afford to repair your own car, but if you hit someone else's and have to pay a repair bill of several hundred thousand baht, that is more than you can afford.

Class 3 Super Save insurance for older cars: who is it for and how much does it cost?

Premiums from THB 2,300 per year for a saloon aged 2–20 years (as at 15 October 2026, excluding CMI). The actual premium depends on the vehicle type and the car's age.

How much does Class 3 Super Save insurance cost?
Annual premiums, including tax and stamp duty, with the CCTV camera discount already applied, excluding CMI. Data as at 15 October 2026
| Vehicle type | Car aged 2–20 years | Car aged 21–30 years |
|---|---|---|
| Private or commercial passenger cars with up to 7 seats | 2,300 | 3,600 |
| Private passenger vehicles with up to 12 seats | 3,200 | 4,600 |
| Commercial pickups / light trucks up to 3 tonnes | 3,200 | 4,600 |
Every figure is a starting premium. The actual premium depends on the vehicle type, the car's age and model, and the insurer's underwriting decision. The quote is what counts.
Worked example: a 22-year-old pickup rear-ends a saloon
- A 22-year-old pickup falls in the 21–30 age band. Premium THB 4,600 per year, about THB 383 a month on average (4,600 ÷ 12)
- If the repair to the other party's saloon costs THB 85,000, it is within the THB 1,000,000 third-party property limit
- The repair to our own pickup is not covered by Class 3 insurance
- Compared with a 15-year-old saloon, the premium would be THB 2,300 per year, a difference of 4,600 − 2,300 = THB 2,300
This example is for illustration only. The amount actually paid depends on the damage assessment and the policy conditions.
How is Class 3 different from CMI?
CMI helps with treatment costs and compensation for bodily injury as required by law, but it does not pay for repairs to the other party's car or property. Class 3 insurance covers that part. The THB 1,000,000 third-party property limit is the cover that people who drive an older car every day should have.
Who is Class 3 Super Save insurance for?
- Owners of cars aged 21–30 years who are looking for Class 3 insurance that still accepts cars of this age
- People who can afford to repair their own car but want a limit to pay the other party
- Owners of private vans with up to 12 seats who want personal accident cover for 12 people
- People who find it inconvenient to book a vehicle inspection
Who should not buy this plan yet?
- People who want their own car repaired after a collision with the other party: Class 3 does not cover your car. See 3+ Chubb Eco insurance for cars up to 25 years old instead

- Cars under 2 years old
