Underwritten by Viriyah Insurance Public Company Limited
Premiums from THB 6,600–11,000 per year, depending on the sum insured, including tax and duty
Highlight: Class 3+ insurance at the same price for both saloons and pickups (codes 110, 210, 320), with 9 sum insured levels to choose from

Your household has a saloon for driving in the city and a pickup for work. Every renewal you have to compare prices car by car until it gets confusing, because each vehicle type is priced differently.

Viriyah's 3+ Single Rate uses the same premium for saloons and pickups. What does it cover, how much is the premium at each sum insured, and what is not covered?

Viriyah 3+ Single Rate insurance: who is it for, and how much is the premium?

In short: Viriyah 3+ Single Rate suits saloons and pickups with codes 110, 210 and 320 that are not used for hire or rental. It covers the car in a collision with a land vehicle where the other party is identified, up to the sum insured, with third-party property cover of THB 1,000,000. It does not cover theft or fire. Premiums start at THB 6,600 per year for a sum insured of THB 100,000 (as of 15 October 2026). The actual premium depends on the sum insured and the insurer's assessment.

How much is the premium for Viriyah 3+ Single Rate insurance?

Annual premiums, including tax and duty. The same rate applies to codes 110, 210 and 320, and includes the CCTV camera discount and the Application discount for reporting accidents. Data as at 15 October 2026

Sum insured (THB)Starting premium (THB per year)Sum insured / starting premium
100,0006,600350,000 / 9,400
150,0007,300400,000 / 9,900
200,0007,700450,000 / 10,500
250,0008,300500,000 / 11,000
300,0008,800–

Every figure is a starting premium. The actual premium depends on the sum insured, the vehicle type and the insurer's underwriting decision. The total including CMI is as stated in the quote.

Worked example: increasing the sum insured from 200,000 to 300,000

  • A sum insured of THB 200,000 costs THB 7,700 per year, about 7,700 ÷ 12 = THB 642 a month on average
  • A sum insured of THB 300,000 costs THB 8,800 per year
  • You pay 8,800 − 7,700 = THB 1,100 per year more, and get THB 100,000 more to repair your car in a collision with the other party
  • If the repairs to your car cost THB 250,000, a sum insured of THB 200,000 leaves THB 50,000 above the limit, while a sum insured of THB 300,000 keeps the cost within the limit

This example is for illustration only. The sum insured you can actually have depends on the value of the car, and the amount actually paid depends on the damage assessment.

How much sum insured should you choose?

With 3+, the sum insured is the ceiling on repair costs for your own car when you collide with another party. It is not used to calculate a payout if the car is stolen, so you don't need to match it to the car's value. Look at the heavy repair bill likely for your model, for example a full front-end crash, airbags deploying, or several major parts being replaced.

If the model has inexpensive parts, a mid-range sum insured may be enough. But if the car is new or its parts are expensive, each extra THB 50,000 of sum insured adds about THB 400–700 per year according to the table. Compare two or three levels in the quote before deciding.

Who is Viriyah 3+ Single Rate insurance for?

  • Households with both a saloon and a pickup who want the same premium rate for every car
  • Owners of pickups used commercially (code 320) that do not carry high-risk goods
  • People who want their own car's repairs paid after a collision with another party, but don't want to pay Class 1 premiums
  • People who want to choose a sum insured close to the likely repair cost, because the sum insured goes up in steps of THB 50,000

Who should not buy this plan yet?

  • People worried about theft or fire: 3+ does not cover them.
  • People who want cover when they hit something themselves or when the other party can't be identified
  • Cars used for hire or rental
  • Pickups with code 210 used to carry goods, and pickups with code 320 carrying fuel, acids or gas
  • People who want a high personal accident limit: this plan gives THB 50,000. See Bangkok Insurance 3+ no-excess insurance to compare other conditions.

Limits to check before you decide

  1. Theft and fire are not covered
  2. The car itself is covered only in a collision with a land vehicle where the other party is identified. Hitting a post or a wall, or the other party driving off, doesn't qualify
  3. Personal accident and medical expenses of THB 50,000 per person
  4. Conditions of use depend on the vehicle code: code 210 must not carry goods, and code 320 must not carry high-risk goods
