3+ Chubb X-Tra insurance: income compensation THB 1,800 per day, from THB 6,400

Premium data as of 12 October 2026 · compiled by Prakanthai.com

Underwritten by Chubb Samaggi Insurance Public Company Limited
Premiums from THB 6,400–8,200 per year, depending on the sum insured, the area where the car is used and whether it is an Asian or European make. Tax and stamp duty included.
Highlight: a 3+ plan with income compensation of THB 1,800 per day if you are injured and admitted to hospital, plus travel expenses while your car is in the garage

You are hit from behind while waiting at a red light. The car spends a week in the garage, so you take a taxi to work every day, and the driver hurts their neck and has to spend two nights in hospital as well. The insurance pays for the repairs, but nobody pays for the travel or the lost income.

What extra cover does a 3+ plan with this compensation give over an ordinary 3+, and how much more does it cost?

3+ Chubb X-Tra insurance: who is it for, and how much is the premium?

In short: Chubb Samaggi Insurance's 3+ Chubb X-Tra insurance suits people who use their car every day and want more than just repairs. It covers the car in a collision with a vehicle where the other party can be identified, with a sum insured of THB 100,000 or 200,000, plus income compensation of THB 1,800 per day if you are injured and admitted to hospital, travel expenses of THB 1,000 each time the car goes into the garage, and THB 20,000 for theft of belongings in the car. Premiums from THB 6,400 per year for an Asian make used in other provinces with a THB 100,000 sum insured (as at 12 October 2026). The actual premium depends on the sum insured, the area where the car is used and the make.

Roughly how much is the 3+ Chubb X-Tra premium?

Annual premiums, including tax and stamp duty. Data as at 12 October 2026

Make / sum insuredBangkokOther provinces
Asian make, sum insured 100,0006,8006,400
Asian make, sum insured 200,0007,8007,400
European make, sum insured 100,0007,2006,800
European make, sum insured 200,0008,2007,800

Every figure is a starting premium. The actual premium depends on the sum insured, the area where the car is used, the make and the insurer's underwriting decision. The quote is what counts.

Worked example: what do you get back for paying more than for 3+ Eco?

Suppose an Asian-make car in Bangkok with a sum insured of THB 100,000

  • 3+ X-Tra premium THB 6,800, compared with 3+ Chubb Eco at THB 5,300: you pay THB 1,500 more per year
  • If there is an accident that year and the driver spends 3 days in hospital, the compensation is 1,800 × 3 = THB 5,400
  • The car goes into the garage once: travel expenses of THB 1,000, THB 6,400 in total
  • On top of that, personal accident and medical expenses cover is twice as high as in 3+ Eco (THB 200,000 compared with THB 100,000)

This example is for illustration only. The amount actually paid depends on the insurer's claim assessment. The rule of thumb: the extra premium pays off if you drive a lot and regularly carry passengers.

Who is 3+ Chubb X-Tra insurance for?

  • People who drive to work every day and would have to pay for other transport if the car went into the garage
  • Daily-paid workers or freelancers whose income stops if they are injured and in hospital
  • Owners of European cars up to 25 years old, because this plan accepts both Asian and European makes
  • People who often leave valuables in the car, such as a laptop or a bag

Who should not buy this plan yet?

  • People who want cover for theft, fire or flood: this plan does not cover them. See Chubb 2+ X-Treme 1, which has similar benefits and covers all three.
  • People who want the cheapest 3+ and don't need the extra benefits: 3+ Eco has a lower premium.
  • Cars used for hire or rental: this plan only accepts codes 110, 120 and 320 that are not used for hire or rental.
  • Supercar, racing, customised, lowered, lifted or modified cars, as well as cars fitted with sirens and cars used for Demo or Test drive
  • Cars over 25 years old

Limits to check before you decide

  1. The car itself is covered only in a collision with a land vehicle where the other party is identified. Hitting a post, a wall or an animal, or the other party driving off, doesn't qualify
  2. Flood, theft and fire are not covered
  3. Travel costs while the car is in the garage, up to 3 times per year, THB 1,000 each time
  4. Income compensation is paid when a car accident injury means you are admitted to hospital as an inpatient, not for outpatient treatment.
  5. Six-wheel trucks, tow trucks, trailers and songthaews are not accepted.
