*In this plan, Bangkok includes Nakhon Pathom, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Samut Prakan and Samut Sakhon. Every figure is a starting premium. The actual premium depends on the sum insured, where the car is used, the make and the insurer's underwriting decision. The quote is what counts.
Worked example: when is paying THB 400 more than for X-Treme 1 worth it?
Suppose an Asian-make car in Bangkok with a sum insured of THB 200,000
- X-Treme 2 premium THB 8,400 · X-Treme 1 premium THB 8,000: a difference of THB 400 per year
- If the car goes into the garage once that year and you are not at fault, X-Treme 2 pays THB 3,000 and X-Treme 1 pays THB 1,000: THB 2,000 more
- If you are not at fault all 3 times, X-Treme 2 pays 3,000 × 3 = THB 9,000, compared with THB 3,000
- If you have no not-at-fault case all year, the THB 400 difference goes unused
This example is for illustration only. The amount actually paid depends on the insurer's claim assessment. The rule of thumb: a single not-at-fault case gets you back more than the premium difference.

Frequently asked questions
How do the THB 3,000 travel expenses differ from the loss-of-use compensation you claim from the other party?
The travel expenses are a benefit Chubb pays under your own policy, while loss-of-use compensation is a legal right you claim from the party at fault or the other party's insurer.
Do you get travel expenses if you are at fault?
Yes, THB 1,000 each time, up to 3 times per year in total, counting not-at-fault cases too.
How is X-Treme 2 different from X-Treme 1?
The main cover is the same. The difference is the travel expenses when you are not at fault: X-Treme 2 pays THB 3,000 and X-Treme 1 pays THB 1,000. The premiums differ by THB 400 in every cell.
Can a European car be insured?
Yes. The premium for a European car is THB 400 higher than for an Asian car in every cell of the table.
If the whole car is flooded, does it pay the full sum insured?
No. Flood damage to the car has a separate limit of up to THB 50,000.
